All Eyes on Jeb Bush

Does Jeb Bush stand a chance running for president in 2016 or is the Bush name poison?

It would be refreshing to have someone in the White House with a proven record of being a fiscal conservative, because the last time we had anything similar was Ronald Reagan. Unfortunately  I don’t think any of this matters since the Bush name is pure poison to many. Just the sound of it sets people on edge (BTW, this is how I feel when I hear the name “Obama”.)

I would prefer Rubio over Bush. Besides the hard core progressives that hate the word Bush, I think the name would even repel the independent swing voters, who associate the Bush name with the poisonous political karma that has existed since about 2004. The Bush name is like a haze that floats over the political battlefield like mustard gas. Perhaps my view is unfair to Jeb, but I’m looking for a good candidate who has the right principles, and doesn’t have the “guilt by association” stigma that unfortunately haunts the Bushes.

BTW, the link you used requires a WSJ subscription to read the written article. But the associated short video is free to watch. So you might want to substitute the following link instead:
