Let’s cut to the chase. Trying to remove guns from the hands of lawful owners through spurious and ineffective legislation does not and will not work.

All current gun control measures on the table are about controlling people and eliminating freedom, not the misuse of firearms.

How about coming up with a different plan such as: having local police departments establish training courses for all firearm users and creating a revenue stream for the department; thus putting firearms in the hands of trained individuals. Most departments have access to training ranges, so why not offer training, especially to those who need a firearm for protection from a threat. Police departments should be working with the public, not creating a barrier.
