More Money

‘Scientist-in-chief’ President Obama

More money, more money, more money, but wait we don’t have any money.

According to a few news reports the self proclaimed “scientist-in-chief” President Obama is asking Congress to spend $100 million next year to start a new project to map the human brain in hopes of eventually finding cures for diseases like Alzheimer’s. In addition to the proposal, we (U.S. taxpayers) are giving away $880,000 grant to the University of Iowa to study the mating habits of New Zealand mud snails, in the hopes of determining why organisms have sex.

Are you confused yet, because I sure am. I don’t understand why we are throwing money out the window when we don’t have money? I thought two weeks ago Obama was crying about the sequester and how we don’t have money to spare for certain projects.

I really think Mr. Obama needs a new brain.

As the referenced article notes: “The goals of the work are unclear at this point.” This is a no-brainer, pun intended.

  2. Some of these studies give me the chills, bad chills they ring similar to Nazi Germany’s medical experiments just not on humans. There are suppose to be some benefits with the brain study, yet I find the timing, expense suspect and I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but a realist and someone with a good mind for history. I’ve even questioned if it was my aversion to this current administration that was prejudicing my thoughts on that brain mapping, and I came to the conclusion that may have been a part of it, but it’s also some of the reasons for that ridiculous expenditure at this time.

The timing is just off for all these studies. There was another study I read about recently about proper condom use (not a typo.) They spent $423K and no jobs were created.
