GOP Prescription for Disaster

Republican Governor John Kasich of Ohio promotes a blend of conservatism leveled with liberal policies.

From WSJ:

Job growth is up. The Republican governor just signed what he calls “the biggest tax cut in the country” after converting a looming $7.7 billion budget deficit into a $2.5 billion surplus. Such success, he says, “would probably get a global CEO a giant bonus.”

Then comes the part that sets Mr. Kasich apart.

All this is just prelude, he says, to a larger mission, one his Christian faith has called him to shoulder: “helping the poor, the beleaguered and the downtrodden, and trying to heal them and lift them up.”

Gov. Kasich wants to rebrand the Republican party and modernize it to the 21st century.

When will people understand that “if” you want to help the poor you should, but you should not be forced to do so by the government.

The US has spent trillions of dollars since the sixties aiding the poor. Instead of making them independent we have made them dependent on the few hard working Americans that are left.
